The University of Bologna (Law Department) and the University of Parma (Department of Legal, Political and International Studies), in cooperation with Berkeley University, have organized  a two-days Conference titled: Global Law vs National Law?. The 10th October the Conference will be hosted by the Bologna University, while the second day (11th October) the event will take place in Parma.

The event, characterized by an interdisciplinary approach, is structured in different panels identified using particular “keyworks”. Professor Lucia Scaffardi, Coordinator of the BRICS Parma Research Group, will talk about one of these keywords: the term “Development”, included in the panel dedicated to “Economics” (Friday 11th October, 4:30 PM). Professor Scaffardi will focus on the concept of “economic development” elaborated by the BRICS group, underlining the importance and the main characteristics of the most recent evolution in this field: the creation of two important financial and economic BRICS institutions such as the New Development Bank and the Contingent Reserve Arrangement.
